AR-337 ADF problem, intermittent no green light

I have a couple of 337's in the field with doc-feed problems, one machine intermittently will lose the green feed light when original is placed in tray, power machine off / on and green light is back for a while again.

The other machine is more of a direct failure of something, you will have a green light and ADF will function normally until you lift the lid and place an original on the glass, then go back to use the ADF and (no green light), until power off and on again, every time.

On the first machine, I have swapped virtually everything besides just changing the entire ADF, no help.

Has anyone seen this problem, thanks

it's usually the cover switch located in the back under the small metal plate with the 4 screws. Some have an allen screw to adjust or you can remove the metal plate & bend the arm. HTH
    Hope that helps !

thanks, I forgot about that, I can hear the switches click when open and closing the lid, but I guess they are flakey, I'll swap switch and try.

Now that I think of it, I remember changing the ADF lid switches on the old
SF-8800 and SF-9800's for similar problems, just been yrs. ago.

If you've already cleaned the sensors and black felt pads, be sure to recalibrate the sensors in simulation 53. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
