ARM455 Dark @ back Light @ Front of copy

I just read all the post on the Tigers but did not see this exact problem.

The copies are coming out faint at bottom/front of machine and dark at top/back of machine in portrait mode.

I usually end up banging the machine around and it starts working again. So, the problem is intermittent.

I have not tried cleaning the mag roller. As this sounds like a problem that would not be fixed by just banging the machine around.

I swapped laser units and the problem did not move from one to the other.

I changed the charge grid one time and it started working. Put old charge grid back and it still worked fine.

Haven't looked to much at transfer roller. So I can't rule it out.

One time I just started running sky shots and it finally filled in completely black.

It's like it is not toning up often enough.

And yes I have tried leveling the machine more than once hoping to correct problem.

I have three different machines at three different locations doing this, somebody must have found the solution.

I am open to all suggestions, even if I have already tried it. Thanks for listening to my problem.

Developer Housing. Sometimes a black residue builds up. Causes odd backgrounding. Empty DV use MagRollerCleaner to clean it, Or replace DV housing.

Transfer unit could be off, or side door frame bent. Not as likely unless foul play is involved

Other than developing issues, the next thing to look at is how the left door is latching.

If you've got a customer who really leans on the left door, the rails can bend, the screws might get loose, or it might just not be latched at both the front and the back at the same time.

I would do some testing with self prints to completely rule out scanner issues. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

When I said I ran sky shots I really mean't sim 64-1 pattern 50 (full black)

And after 20 prints the stupid thing started working fine for about a week.

Or, like one time I changed the charge grid and the stupid thing worked fine for about a week.

And, one time I did the maintenance, Developer, drum, and blade, calibrate dv with front door open at the start and the stupid thing worked fine for about a week.

Its been almost a week again, so I am expecting a call soon.

I have a new dv unit on order and I will also order the transfer roller holder.

Thanks for the tips to look for. It is much appreciated.
