      what is the PAPER type you have designated in the tray and the print driver?

      high gloss paper needs a thick1 setting for the toner to bong to the page properly

        Just cheap copy paper. What ever staples had on sale last. Tray setting to plain

              as mentioned above, restore factory defaults, then go from there.

                I haven't been able to locate a "reset to default" option in the web page setup. Can you provide any.futhor guidance

                  Access it from the control panel of the mfp and follow the steps provided.

                      to reset the printer. No change when printing a JPG from thumbdrive

                        have you tried printing a PDF sometimes JPG's are screwy

                          On the op-panel of the machine you should see a Settings button. That should get you started. The password should be "admin".

                            Since the begining of this project I have been using a pdf printer test file as well. cmyk shaded scales etc etc. Same faded result

                              It's a harmless reset, just puts the mfp back to factory, it's not accessed by sim codes.
