    MX-601 Fusers

I'm having to replace these half way through their life expectancy. Some will wrap paper around lower roller ans others will just jam 2 or 3 sheets under the separator bar. Has anyone tried using 607 fusing belt and lower rollers in a 601 fuser? Just wondering because those seem to last a little longer. Or messing with the temperature? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Ron

I use the 602 belt for these. Never have used the 601 belt. If you don't know this already be sure to bring the copier up with out the fuser installed. It resets some settings in the machine, then power down and install the fuser. You will get better yield on your fusers.

    Good luck

Another question - Have anyone seen cleaner roller units for these? I was searching one day on google and ran across some sites overseas that use some. I inserted that part number in TechData and it was accepted. Also do you think I could use a MX-608FB in a pinch for a 601 fuser unit? Those seem to be on backorder all the time. I sure hope the BP series fusers are much better because the 601's stink. Thanks Ron

We used a 608 one time and it did not work very well. Not sure why because I use the 608 in the 70 series with no problems but in the 71 series they don't last or at least not in the unit we put it in.

          Good luck

Throwing out the odd calls like a customer breaking something in the fuser or rebuilt units failing the next day here are the numbers from our machines.

            Average life 200,728
            Longest life 301,582
            Shortest life 64,397

These numbers might be a little on the low side as our techs carrying rebuilt fusers with them. A call for a bad thermistor on a copier an hour away might get a compete fuser replacement.

              DUNT-9555DSZZ CL Roller Unit

We're trying these where there is a lot of paperdust-buildup on the pressure roller...instead of swapping the fuser/pressure roller every 10 or 20K

Our fusers don't get near the mileage of mloudy.

Common problem in some areas/countries. Change fuser temp with +10 degrees (SIM 43-1) on PLAIN PAP&WUP&RDY GR

See attached file for more information
