What's your check list after unpacking

After 5 years I've just realized that most of our machines haven't been properly configured and calibrated in the workshop by the person who's supposed to be looking after them, which has screwed up a lot of fusing belts...
I'm going to have to create a checklist for him to attach to the machine after each visit to the workshop.
Knowing that he has 1 hour max per machine, what do you advise me to put in this list?
I've already removed the firmware update, I'll do it on installation.

25-02 (if applicable) or 25-01 (if not) before installing toner
    06-08 (if applicable)
    50-10 MAIN-CSx
    50-05 DEN-C
    61-13
    61-11
    50-22 (if color)
    46-74
    Language and Keyboard in French

All of that looks good. Also testing every tray of the machine including duplex, and any accessories like fax/finisher/LCC. Firmware really should be done once all of the accessories are on, however, Sharp's aren't really as picky about it as some other manufacturers. We also have a couple settings to adjust from what we have experienced in the field, but that's typically set per dealer, and just prevents unnecessary callbacks.

This being said, we haven't done any 6-8's ahead of time, and haven't had any issues with fusers, minus the usual issues.

Sharp is really lax with firmware (while Epson wants us to update the firmware before and after the options are installed).

Which settings do you usually do ? I keep forgetting to setup the automatic firmware update on the CR5.

I check every machine with 06-08 now that I know he doesn't, one of the new machines last week was 2 click away.

With Konica Minolta "i" series and all the issues, after unpacking you get on your knees and pray machine will even work

          We change:

26-35 to a 1 (BP's now have it already enabled)
          26-69 (For those who have maintenance) A-1, B-3, E-1, F-0
55-3 22-5 to 1(not sure what it does but it's already enabled on BP's), and 32-2
          Copy Color mode to Auto
Enabling A4/Ltr and A3/Ledger auto change (USA uses letter, legal, and ledger)
5min preheat time, uncheck the "Turn off Panel..." option, set to 15 mine shut off timer, and fast wake up
          Change to Wired mode
Add the ID tag of the machine and the customer name (and location if you have it)
And add email alerts to our contracts email once every month based on the install date (in case other reporting methods fail)

All of these can be changed in 2 minutes.

Sharp contact told us with the release of Sphinx/Griffin/Phoenix (2630/3060/4070) we shouldn't do 25-02 anymore on first start up.

Since then: (same for new Titan/Atlas)
            • Delete all Startup buttons, only Copy and Networkfolder Scan (unless we know what the customer wants already)
            • Energy mode 10min preaheat, Turn Panel off, 60min shut off and fast wake-up
            • Scan settings: Set all mono scans to grey standard
            • Connect everything and firmware update
            • 50-22
            • 46-74
            • 64-1 check with first 4 settings being 11-2-2-255
            • Done

Titan/Atlas exclusive: Set Home button the right

Can easily do 4 machines in 1 hour

Not sure to follow this one, I just put F-0 (it's already on 0 since CR4), but we use the mail to manage our fleet instead of a real solution.

55-3 SW-22 5 is to add the toner box on home screen (CR4 a new option appears in home_basic)

I tend to leave the Copy Color mode to Color instead of Auto, too many complaints on the old generation, I've never tried on CR4

I've never understand what "Turn off panel" does, can't see the difference when turned on or off.

We push the Color setting to Auto because if you copy 10 pages, and 2 of them are color, you can run it as auto-color, and it will only count as 8 BW and 2 color.

Unless they don't know in the first place that this mode exists

                      "55-3 32-2"
I can't find any info on what 32-2 does, any idea ?

I think it was something to do with email status reporting. Don't quote me on that, though.

I believe it makes it report in 5% increments, so when you change 26-69 -A, it reports correctly. Idk, I think it's dumb that they put so many things as softswitches, it makes our job harder, and isn't like you can look up what you need since there is no master list; other than one we created.
