    "EL error" on 25-2 sharp Ar-M237 Please Help!!!!

    I am a RICOH/Kyocera tech that got forced into working on a sharp 237. i performed a PM on the machine but after i added developer and ran the automatic DV adjustment it went down to "73" and said "el error" at the end... i've tried everything i could think of on this machine and i dont have any service manuals... is their anything else i can do without having to replace the DV unit??? please help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
    God Bless

    remove the back cover, unplug the toner motor (2 black wires that are on a big white connector) put a piece of paper about 1 inch on the glass so your lead edge does not jam and run 20-25 sky shots. Run 25-1 and see were the developer is at. If it's around 100 plug the toner motor back in and run 25-2 again. Before starting the copier after plugging the motor back in make sure the front door is open, enter Sim codes, enter 25-2 then close the front door.

    Not sure if this is the best way to tatical this but it's worked before for me.

          I would try taking out the toner sensor from the developer unit and wipe off toner buildup. They sometimes accumulate toner on surface and give false readings.

            After any dv adjustment (25-2) you must press CA key to store the toner sense level. The other suggestions from DavePo and Lawrence are good tips and should be done.

              cleaning the toner desity sensor on the developer unit then running 25-2 worked great.

                Congratulations. =^..^=
                If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
