    Sharp AR M207 "E7-11"

I have a customer that is using the scanner on the Sharp AR M207. Every time they try to scan a document the copier gives an "E7-11". It doesn't mater if it is from the feeder or on the glass. I have cleaned the under side on both sections of the glass, and added extra white tape. The copier portion/operation works fine. Never a code.
Once in a blue moon, the copier will scan after a few tries, and sometimes if you choose black/white.
Someone said to update the "FIRMWARE". Is that with in the copier, or a patch to the driver on the computer. How do you update the firmware if it is on the copier?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The firmware is a control program for the machine. It requires that you download the new program file and the maintenance program to install it from Sharp's service website. The procedure is explained in section 12 of the service manual. If updating the firmware does not work try replacing the CCD. I have had to do that in the past.

Firstly, the firmware must be updated. The firmware version with the E7-11 fix included is v2.05 MCU.
You must clean all optics, mirrors and copy lamp reflector.

If you still get E7-11 codes after this is done, you must either:

      Replace the Copy lamp assembly.
Ensure mirror base is parallel with mirror B.
Adjust CCD height by half-turn maximum. Also check CCD skew.

            I think he's looking to trade. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              Here's the correction:
" Dear all, can I have the firmware for arm207? I have all the toshiba firmwares. If anyone wants to share, please reply me. "

Here is a dumb question, Does the machine have the slit glass installed. I had this problem once and someone had just thrown a df of the machine and didn't install a slit glass.

That would be funny if we did not have someone that (on a Canon) swapped an A1 and B1 but did not switch the end plates - then called Canon because it kept jamming. lol - unless it happens to you.

If that was the case, someone is in the wrong career.
