    Mx5500 stupid question

Can someone tell me where Sharp hid the lift motors for the tandem cassette in the parts book? I'll be darned if I can find them.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

All MX Lift motors are the same.

    CCOVP1607FC458 - New part number.

PS... there is no such thing as a stupid question

It's hard to tell, but my guess is section 71 (rear frame section 1) item #40 p/n CCOVP1607FC418. There might be an updated version, check IDNC if available.
      Good call Wazza.

The MX lift motors have been updated afew times now.

They started with ....418, then ....438, now ......458 as the last digit part numbers.
The latest version has the strongest plastic on the shaft, therefore preventing shaft twist (eg, F2-12, F2-22 etc etc).

In conjunction with the new part number for the PE sesnsor arm (stronger plastic/modified shape), lubricating lift plates and the newest lift motor part, there should be virtually no more tray lift problems, lift motor twisting or error codes (unless client incorrectly loads paper etc etc).

Geez guys.... update your parts manuals on a more regular basis.....
418 lift motor was released many years ago.

Damn, I'm getting slow. Three of you have beat me to it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I guess it's a benefit to have a laptop available while on the road. Plus, I never sleep

One thing I forgot to mention (in case you dont know), the lift motors dont come with the coupling & spring. You need to take them off the original lift motor unit. As the original is most likely twisted or broken anyways, just cut the shaft on each side, then snap it in half. This will allow the coupling & spring to come off easily, without needing 3 hands to hold the coupling clips open while removing it from the shaft. Might as well break the shaft in half and get the coupling unit & spring quickly.
