I have a customer who has a sharp AR M277. They called today with a copy quality problem.
The copier is smearing the the copy. The image looks like it has been dragged, with wavy sides at about 2/3 down the (portrait)page, about 3 inches wide.
I thought that it might be the drum blade. Replaced the blade, drum, and the developer. Problem still there. The developer unit has extra toner spray on the lower lip where the image is distorted after a few copies.
I cleaned the coronas, and the transport section. I removed the tranfer and the main corona, individuallty to see is there was a difference. The copiers still appeared to have the problem in their unique way.
Could it be a developer bias problem? Why only 3 inches wide and near the secondary mylar on the drum unit? Could something be shorting out? Should I replace the coronas?
Please help.
