hav a sharp arm207. copies from glass ok, but copy a4 or a3 through adf you get a black band about 25mm lead edge to trailedge. copies a4R ok. any help welcome
A 25mm thick band sounds about the size of one of the mylars under the ADF. I dont work on this series, but it sounds exactly like a similar issue with a Whale series machine when the ADF is skewed and a mylar just sits over the slit glass, causing a band across the page. Your A4R copies wouldn't register this problem as it would be one of the mylars on the outside.
Check the ADF is sitting straight or clean the optics and slit glass REALLY well.
A 25mm wide band across the page is quite large. Its not your regular ink stain or white-out size marking on the slit glass. It could possibly be part of the optics/cable hanging down between there and the CCD. Something is blocking the light. Look straight down through the optics to see the CCD. You might see something there causing this.
I've had to trim a millimeter or two off of those ADF mylars on a couple of occasions. They can become quite mangled. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
hi quick update, well cleaned optics /ccd and adf till blood ran. checked mylars seem to be ok . copies 100 per cent better but still not sure of cause . been now been told machine handles rough when moved from one office to another and may be the adf might have been twisted but it looks and sits ok. will see what happens over next week.cheer for all help
