    MXM700N

    Hello all:
I have a brain buster for you all. I have an mxm-700n with about 750,000 copies on it. The problem i am having is the waste toner bottle on the toner itself is filling up, about every 2 weeks it is full and the tone is only about 1/2 gone. I have replace the entire process unit and the problem is still there. The waste toner cant be packed any tighter in the waste toner bottle and toner is dumping all over the rear side of the machine by the reg roller. Anyone else had an issue like this? Thanks in advance!!!!!

    Firmware must be current.
Change drum & dev together, make sure you reset drum & dev counters, as well as Rotation Counters in 24-11. This step is very important.
Run Halftone & Gamma adjustments immediately afterwards. Problem should not return.

This issue tends to happen to machines that do alot of small page jobs, as the machine does alot of cleaning rotations. It generally doesnt happen to machines that do long, continuous print runs. The same issue started with the initial Dragon series ARM550-700. The waste toner box on the cartridge was made bigger to help cope with this. Your machine already has the bigger waste toner box.

New Dragon machine coming soon has a feature that will detect when the waste toner is full, and report back to the users to change the toner cartridge. It will over-ride the cartridge and say that it is empty/due for replacement. This solves any problems of waste toner over-flows or waste toner transport system breakdowns.

Not bad! It only took 6 years to think of that. Not that it wasn't suggested many many times.

Another thing to think about: If you've got the gamma or other adjustments cranked up for super-solid fill, that is going to generate a greater quantity of waste toner. So you may also want to default your settings back to the standard out-of-box defaults. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
