    [Jamming] MX2700N Jamming code POD1_N

I have MX2700N Jam code POD1_N. POD1 sensor found ok in simulation, replaced delivery unit with a refurbished one still jamming. It jams only in duplex with one sheet of paper folded in fuser, one clean sheet in ADU, one in registration roller, one coming out from tray. At times one sheet also is found at entry of inner finisher (MXFNX1) reverse gate.

The paper that is folded in fuser causes waste toner in primary transfer belt blade unit to spread around.

I increased tension of finisher reverse gate return spring as per repair hint in Handy Guide and I made 50 duplex copies ok but having put the machines together it returned to original jamming state as described above.

I suspected the fuser but it appears to be ok because I tried it in another machine with no issue.

Please contribute if you have had above before. Thanks

If it only jams in duplex jobs, check operation of APPD1 sensor. Its common for that duplex sensor to blow, because it sits directly beside the fuser when the door is closed. I have had a few over the years that the APPD1 sensor (in the reverse PG section of the main door) would work OK in sim, but fail in normal mode. That caused very similar symptoms to what you are saying.

Also, move the FNX1 reverse gate solenoid position further back, to allow a greater opening of the reverse gate. The lead edge can often hit the reverse gate when the paper has a bit of curl on it. When it has a bigger opening size, it rarely hits the reverse gate, even with the paper curling on d/s jobs.

I have had on three occassions an issue with APPD1 sensor where the paper stop on sensor declaring APPD1 jam code. In my current case paper is folded in fuser also. I have ordered reverse PG guide on RH door, i will try replacing the APPD1 sensor next visit. Thanks Wazza.
