When my friend was little he stuck his dads car key in once. Was like a bear learning fire is hot.

I was the kid that would plug a phone charger into an outlet and lick the end you stuck into the phone.

It was never a powerful shock, but it did feel interesting on the tongue.

Guess that explains a lot about me, come to think of it.

We use the Sharp recommended power filters and I have had certain machines hooked up to these filters and the machine appeared dead. If I took it off the filter then it worked OK. My thoughts on this is the filter does such a good job it will not let power thru it. I would tell my customers to get a electrician in and checked the power circuits, ususally they call back and say they found a power problem. I would only leave the filter off the machine if it was owned
by the customer and we did not have a contract on it. Hope this helps. Dakotadan...

That type of filter will not work on GFCI circuits; we've been using Panamax with good results and they do work on GFCI circuits.

            Hey Zoo,
I remember a Jaguar that kept blowing fax PWBs. The fax screen was frozen, and would occasionally clear if you powered off, pulled the plug, and waited 15 minutes. Three boards in one year. No surge suppressor, but GFCI outlets (it was near a sink, in a medical consulting room).

I asked the maintenance staff if that couldn't be a regular 15A receptacle. They said no. I said the copier couldn't be on a GFCI outlet, and it would have to move. Eventually they gave in and changed the outlet. No problems after that. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We've seen 3 or 4 of the ESP filters go bad (age unknown), and I even had one go 'bang' on me after doing service on a C5800 Canon; thought I had fried something, but after replacing the ESP with a Panamax 20A everything worked fine and the panic gradually left me.
