Getting L6-10 on AR163 and put new polygon motor RMOTN0022QSZZ in but still get L6-10. Does that mean problem in harness and need to change whole unit or is it MCU board? Just thought I'd ask before taking machine apart again and replacing whole unit. If I do that I will inspect harness for something obvious. I ran 25-10 and heard nothing at all. 30 seconds later the sub number 10 was flashing so I know it took the simulation. Any advise is appreciated. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

I am not sure what you are saying about cleaning and improves care. I changed the polygon motor which usually solves the problem unless problem in harness , connection to board or board itself. I f it could be something else please advise. FrankComment

We always replaced the entire LSU when this code came up.
There was a bulletin on a new style LSU which is a lot cheaper than the old style.
Part# DUNTK0185RS11 - LSU
Part# DHAi-0106QSZ1 - Harness
The bulletin also says you need to change the harness. I don't remember ever doing that but for the cost of a $5 harness better to be safe.Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.Comment

The thing to watch on the ribbon cables is copper leads peeling back from the edge that inserts into the connector. When I worked on these machines, I always replaced laser unit assemblies. I've never tried it any other way.
You know there are lots of other components in that laser unit. I could be the laser diode, or the BD sensor. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
