    [Electrical] ARm700U MFP Controller Trouble

I have a machine that does not detect when a computer is connected to it. The LED's light up on the PWB but when a USB or parralell is plugged in nothing. Just trying to use as a host based printer. Copying works fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually the USB and parallel ports are for upgrading the flash on this model - have not heard or seen it work as a GDI printer.

I believe an AR-P19 option is needed for any printing on the U model.

Agreed. I believe that the USB and parallel are for loading firmware Only on the U models. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yep these guys are correct. The only time those ports are active is during firmware upgrade. Same with the AR-M355U & AR-M455U.
          Hope that helps !
