    [CQ] MX-3501

Ok this is weird... copies made through the adf or from the glass come out with what looks like "slashes" or "/" all over the copy in perfect rows and evenly spaced. These "slashes" are made of 5 individual dots. This only happens on copies. Prints and faxes come out fine. This pattern looks like something that the machine might generate if it were in some kind of test mode. The problem appears in color and in black mode, and the dots that make up these "slashes" are black never in any other color. If you've seen this, please advice. Thanks

Sounds like the CCD might be going as prints are OK. You can run shading in SIM 63 to test the CCD.

              Re: MX-3501

63-2 for forced shading, my only experience with memory and prints was related to a post script error, I never did find which RAM DIMM was the cause, but did replace all of them and had the issue clear up after, so unfortunately I have no advice to give on bad memory other than "Change it all!". My issue was non-consistent and random at best, so I was unable to conclusively identify which RAM DIMM was responsible for my printing error. Good luck with yours, do you have sample prints?

Does it put those marks on the 2nd side also (CCD in DSPF)? If so, it might be the Scanner Control pwb, the DSPF memory pwb, or the Scan In pwb. If not, then the CCD in the scanner area might be the cause, or the memory sticks as others have mentioned.
