Hi I have a Sharp AR-M237 Pulling excesive toner from the center of the DV unit. The seal is coated with toner and it pulls toner into the corona unit. I have replaced the dv unit mc unit and transfer roller. The problem always returns and seems to affect about 2 inches right in the center of the developer unit. Thanks in advance.

Re: Sharp AR-M237
What can happen occasionally is the mylar seal will curl in on itself and dig in just enough to start lifting developer straight off the roller. I've removed the seal in the copiers that were having this issue and it has resolved it.
Worst case scenario is that developer gets into the back in the clutches, the machine has to be broken down and vacuumed out, as well, each affected clutch must be cleaned individually or replaced.Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil? -

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Sharp AR-M237
I'll confirm that. I've always replaced those seals, but removing it works too. At our dealership the problem was other techs adding new seals over the old seals. You've got to peel off the old one and clean off the adhesive before installing a new seal. DVC Seal: PSEL-0025QSZZCthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?Comment

I started out with a brand new dv cover and i understand about cleaning off the old seal. I have had problems with the machines dusting up without the seals.Comment

Re: Sharp AR-M237
I've had continued problems as well, hence why I removed the seals. If you're still getting problems with pulling developer, then your drum may be worn, as you've said you changed the charge grid and transfer roller. Maintenance cycle on the 237 is 75k, which involves drum, dev, cleaning blade and charge primarily, have you replaced the drum unit recently?Cthulhu for president! I have replaced all of the consumables. I have not replaced the door, laser, or pwer supply. I know that on some of the 275's the door would warp an they would pull developer.Comment
