[CQ] Sharp AR-M450n with Un-even Copy Quality

Sharp AR-M450 with poor copy quality on image corresponding to "rear" side of machine. Paper running in LETTER direction.

The best way I can describe the problem portion of the image is it has the "appearance" of a humidity issue in paper or a broken rear fuser bushing or dislodged rear tension spring on the fuser. However, the fuser checks out fine. ( toner is bonding ok, nip width is correct, etc )

Installed brand new oem process unit along with new oem drum & DV, checked DV roller and do not see anything that stands out. It has an even coating of DV/Toner on mag roller, machine is level. ...NO CHANGE IN CQ after install

I'm starting to think it may be a Transfer roller issue, but was wondering what you folks might think? We only recently started servicing this client and have very little exposure to this particular model. I also tried flexing the side door because I'd read there were similar symptoms.

I have attached these pic for your review., THANKS IN ADVANCE

Examine the transfer roller gear, and the gear on the drum. When those gears become excessively worn, the rollers separate, causing poor transfer at the rear. It may also pull developer giving you developer copies toward the rear.

If your customer is using 20# paper or lighter, as a temporary fix you can remove the gear on the transfer roller. It will idle all right on lighter paper. If you enduser attempts to use heavier paper you'll get jamming and stretched images. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks, I'll try that. The Drum is brand new so no worries there, but the transfer roller gear could be removed on follow up.

Any other input on this copy quality issue ? ( see attached images in OP )

I will go on-site for this client later this week and I'd like to address any other angles I might be overlooking, including the transfer roller gear already mentioned by Blackcat4866.

the transfer gear is a likely cause as stated above. another thing is the left door tends to sag or lean out if a duplex unit is installed. causing the transfer to pull away from the drum unit (i honestly cant remeber if this caused void areas or dark areas) but worth checking when your there as it seems to be common around here.

UPDATE. Re: Sharp AR-M450n with Un-even Copy Quality

The Transfer roller gear was the correct fix.

Transfer asbly looks marginal so I wlll order the entire unit.

            Thanks again for the replies.

Congratulations. Be sure to check the PS assembly (registration assembly) is not filled with developer. It's a common side affect. =^..^=
