    Sharp AR-M355N AINPD_S Jam Codes

    Hello Everyone,

I a AR-M355N equiped with an AR-DU4 Duplex module and an AR-FN6 Finisher. Intermittently, the machine will jam with a AINPD_S code. I checked the production date on the machine in reference to Bulletin Number MFP-TB-072 with the sensor actuator on the AR-DU4. The arm seems fine and I do not see it "stick" in one position. When I have seen it jam on single copies, it passes into the left hand tray, completely, and then issues the jam code. It will only jam when printing or copying jobs exit to the left. I have disassembled the delivery unit, cleaned all the sensors and cleaned and oiled the two one-way bearings. I ran approximately 550 copies before it jammed.

The machine has a relatively low copy count for this model, 133K.
I also checked the "molts" on the AR-FN6, everything seems fine, with no apparent "sticking." Sharp is advising me that it could be coming from the delivery unit, but I have not seen any according jamming, which usually indicates the deleivery unit.

    I appreciate any suggestions.
I thought I was getting wiser as time went on... I now realize I am just getting older.

We have had this code happen from the turnover/reversing unit. There are a couple of one way gears that will slip in this unit. Have also seen this happen because of the main drive unit as well but mostly with the reversing unit. Since you have the FN6 on this unit sometimes the gate will stick and the paper will go under the gate instead of over the top. When this happened we took the FN6 off and found that part of the frame by the gate had cracked. Very small crack but made a huge problem and only when exiting to the left tray. Hope this helps.

    Good luck!

I've seen the delivery/turnover cause the exact symptoms that you describe. Especially, misfeeds only left output.

I've had limited success with cleaning & lubricating one-way bearings. Somewhere around 50%. And by the way 150k is typical for a delivery turnover replacement.

I've had three of these delivery/turnover units that did not work right out of the box. So I'd just replace the whole delivery/turnover. Also check the inverter gate inside the left door for warping or paper cuts. It doesn't take much of a warp to cause jamming (2mm is enough).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You could replace the one ways. (NGERH1441FCZ1, NGERH1447FCZ1) These are upgraded part numbers. Sharp upgraded the two gears. The old ones are white and the newer ones are brown.(FCZ1) These were upgraded because of grease leaking into them. They also had problems with the cooling fan. (0069) And also revised that. They also changed the roller that is located just after the fuser output. The best thing to do is just replace the whole unit. (P/N CFRM-1051DS51) They also had a problem with the POD 1 sensor burning out. (VHPGP1A73A+-1) They put some grease on the actuators for these sensors and it really was a bad idea as the grease turned to glue from the fuser heat. I worked with Sharp on these issues as there were many. They tried to address most of them on the 355/455 series. The cooling system on these is much better. I must say they did a good job cooling these, however they seem to always have other issues. The 355/455 had upper fuser roller toner caking issues but that is another story. Bottom line, just replace the delivery/ turn unit it only costs around a hundred bucks. The customer will be happy until they call you about their doc feed! Order PCLC-0302FCZZ, and PCLC-0303FCZZ just to have on hand!
          Good luck!

Hey not 1441 but 1421FCZZ on one of those one ways(big thumbs). Black Cat is good with the Guide on the left door. The guide should be black in color. If it is gray then it is the old style. The new style is PGiDM2077FCZ1.

AINPD is the entrance switch to the duplex unit. The lead cause of AINPD_S jamms is the pivots on the actuator getting dirty or the return spring being weak and the actuator does not return to it's home position fast enough or at all.

With power off, spray the pivots of the actuator with contact cleaner or if you have the time, remove it and clean it. Then give the spring an extra 1/2 wrap to increase the return tension, be careful not to go too far with the spring since it will then cause AINPD_N jamms.

All the above solutions will help, but only if you have AINPD_S and AINPD_N jamms mixed together.
