Turn the machine on with the platen cover open and see if the copy lamp comes on. If it does then try replacing the CCD unit. If not then it could be the lamp or lamp circuit.

I agree with mtech. Black level reference involves the lamp circuit, CCD, and image processing (takes place on the MCU). Try those things. If you change the MCU, make sure that the jumpers are set correctly for the model machine you have. For an AR-161 jumpers #1, #4, & #7 must be clipped.

Oh, and for your toner light check the coupler & toner motor. On the early machines the toner motor shaft was made of plastic and twisted off. If you can find the coupler & spring install them on the new toner motor. If the motor & coupler are intact, just replace the toner.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            FYI, some part numbers:
            RMOTD0016QSZZ Toner motor
            NCPL-0002QSZZ Coupling gear
            MSPRC0024QSZZ Spring
CLNS-0003QS51 Sould be the part number for the CCD/Lens unit.
Be careful replacing the unit. There are three screws to level the unit and their adjustment is critical! Start by replacing the unit and not moving these screws, you may get lucky. If not, you will need a ruler and a lot of patience to get this adjustment right.
            Good luck

The paper trick only works on E7-11 when using the doc feed. You can also paint white out on the underside of the slit glass. This will not get rid of an E7-05 code though. It only works when the small reference plate is dirty, discolored or missing.
