    AR-M355u ADF Jamming

    Hey everyone,

Quick question for you knowledgable folk. We have 1 (at the moment) AR-M355u copier jamming in the ADF on the last page of a multipage copy. We have replaced the gate solenoid and updated the firmware for the machine to no avail. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Adjust the separation plate in the ADF, gently pull it out, see if this works. This has worked well for me in the past with this problem.

Try replacing the separation Plate/Pad, and Rollers...

You have had the last page jam problem as well? I'm not sure if it jams at the beginning or halfway through the last past. Would that make a difference on the seperation plate idea?

I have had many problems such as not picking up the last page, last page jamming, etc etc..

The ARM355 is an updated version of the 350, usually these problems happen with the 350.
Changing the Pick Up Roller, and paper feed roller, Seperation Plate usually helps alot more than you would think..
Is the Sepration plate/pad the new version?
I have replaced the PS Roller and delivery roller which helped, and takes a long time to do... I would start with the Sep Plate..

          Two things:

First the OEM separation doesn't work, and the official Sharp mod kit not much better. Your best bet is to open up the AR-M350 manual and order up the AR-EF1 separation parts. 200% better!

          Second: Jam codes?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The 355 PS rollers, Delivery roller M are wider than the 350 version. I use AREF1 part number CPLTM5746DS51 Plate, this come's as one piece with pad everything. Usually does the trick. Sometimes puts to much pressure on the roller, needs a bit of adjustment.

I agree with Blackcat on this one. Sharp modified the sep pad assy. and the original assy from the EF1 works better. This is the worst doc feed that I have worked on when it comes to double feed and jamming. The clutches just suck so bad! PCLC-0302FCZZ and PCLC-0303FCZZ. They are burnt into my brain due to replacing so many. They made it so easy to do! Also, the sensors used are VHPGP1A73A+-1. The same sensors that sucked in the delivery turn unit (POD1,2,and3)

I ended up replacing sep pad with EF1 pad, waiting to see if problem returns.
