    [CQ] ES 2550C

I have a ES 2550c that has given me a CE40 service call. I am not Toshiba trained and this is one of our customers. The CE40 is Image quality control test pattern abnormality: The test pattern is not formed normally.

In trying everything in the service manual I come up empty. Last time I tried a color calibration the black did not print. Would this be the Black LED?

    Any Insite would be helpful.

    Thanks

90% of the time on those type models that code is because one of the developer units is almost empty. Pull each one out and look at the mag roller and see if you see bare spots. If so replace the developer mix on that one. Also another common problem is the rear corona block breaks and causes the charge comb to lay loose in the housing. Usually you can tell which one it is by pulling out the corona cleaning rods for each color and if one is broken you will tell which one.

      Hi Hansen88,

OK I pulled all the dev units and they are filled with carrier, good coverage on the dev roller.
Checked the corona blocks and charge combs , not the issue. All good there.

Thanks anyway, I think the LED has failed, not sure.

check the transfer cleaning unit and see if the auger popped out, also clean the sensors under the transfer belt, remove the belt assembly, you will see a little black shutter that goes from front to back just under where the transfer belt is when you open the side door, also make sure the dv units turn

I don't think it's an LED issue. Hansen88 is exactly right. The eS2550 do not have the usual charge issues common to the 4520C, 4540C. The simple way to diagnose this is when you get the error, remove and examine the latent image on the primary transfer belt. One or more of the color patches will be poorly formed. Like Hansen says, it's usually dead developer, making the trademark diagonal voids easily seen on the developing roller of the same color. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            Hi All,

Well I double checked the developer, K, and it was ok with developer. I removed the transfer belt and cleaned and checked all and the cleaner. Did not help. Developer was turning OK and uniform coverage on the roller. Had a new K developer. Installed that and the problem was gone.

Pulled apart the old developer unit and found that the drive gear to the developer roller had cracked and when it was in use would not turn.

Thank you all for your assistance. I guess I am still not to old to learn.
