I know some of you have scrap piles of old machines like me, anyone have an e350/450 HDD to sell that is good and needs no programming-plug in ready

I have some E352/453 series, but can you use that HDD and simply just re-flash e450 f/w on it without the e450 restore jig ?

As long as the HDD is under 80gb any standard drive will do. You will need to reload the FW anyway as part of it is loaded to the HDD. Just swapping a working HDD into your machine may give you mis matched FW. May also work with a drive up to 160gb but those older machines were a bit fussy about the drive size.
    Good luck.

Ropariva is correct. You cannot pre-load the HDD and expect it to work. There is a registry file on the MFP that is written during the firmware writing process, to help the machine locate the firmware files. Since each of these registries is unique, if you had two fully functional machines of the same model side-by-side, then swapped the HDD's, neither would work because neither could find it's firmware files.

Did I explain that clearly? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yes, I understand whats being said, But I have done it with success before.
Last year I had another e450 HDD crash with the rotating screen you know, I simply robbed another HDD off of one of our scrap machines and plugged it in, did nothing else, machine worked fine, but I do know they both had same final vs. of f/w on them to begin with.

I have also swapped from one e452 to another e452 same HDD both machines, works fine, again both were known to have same vs. f/w though.

I can reload f/w no problem, I was just looking to see if someone had one since all these machines are mostly out of service in spare parts piles now and easy to pull one off

          Hi guy

needn't firmware, it is so easy if who you have a hdd e350 - 450-352-452 -283- 280... (ATA HDD) which can be formated

replace old hdd on your machine,

C+3 power on -- press 3 - star power off

0+8 power on -- 690 enter. waiting it show " reboot the marching " power of . power on

          it is work .

Note: It can't use print and scan functions , it is only photo function . if you like print and scan functions you must update new firmware .
it only use for e230-280-350-450 (e xx0 ) , don't use with e282-283 - 352-353 ( xx2-xx3) , you must update firmware with that series because all data is put in HDD.

          good luck to you

          MM
