3525/MR4010/20 C558 on power up out of box

Boy, I'm gettin' all the good out of the box ones!
    3525/4010/20 DSDF, Finisher/hole punch.
Before it gets to the logon password, about 8 of 9 it
throws a C558 error. Code is NOT in the book. Thought
I looked at it incorrectly since there is a C55B code.
One at a time, disconnected the Finisher, LCF no change.
Disconnected only the multipin connector for the DSDF and
it booted, finished easy setup, passed paper (ruling out the C55B error).
After that, connected everything, reflashed 1725 (all firmware was the same
level). Still tossed up the 558 error. Checked all DSDF connectors & pins.
Pulled the HDMI cable & board. Came up with a C550 which IS in the book.
Case opened with TABS. Just waiting on ATSG to figure it out.

I would have thought that the HDMI cable would have done the trick. It's going to be a communication error, like all the errors in that group ... most likely between the DSDF and the scanner board. Do you have a different DSDF to try on, just for diagnostic purposes? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yeah, we thought about that, but the board connector to the system board on the new style is different that the older DSDF...go figure.

... the old style did not have the Double Feed Detection system in the MR4020 Doc Feeder.

... I am disappointed that V1733 did not address the issue of the issue of the Template Conversion Utility not bring over \\ when creating scan to folder paths.

You have to manually enter \\ for each Template for the "Execute" command to work.

The Tempates work on the LCD panel but not in Top Access unless you manually enter \\ .

We are suppose to FINALLY receive a batch of 4010 DSDF's to complete an order for a college. I think I'll pop one onto the machine
with the "unknown" C558 code. If it goes away, I'll pretty much know it's a DSDF issue. If it doesn't, I suspect it's gonna need a
              system board.

Clone machine like normal, Then export templates.
When you import templates, you will see in small print convert templates to new style or something like that.
You will get the old school templates back.
I haven't seen it but I heard from another tech.

Well, it isn't the DSDF causing the issue.
Swapped out the entire DSDF with another MR4010 (including the extra interface board)
After warming up just before the main screen, it popped up with C558 again.
Looks like a system board issue, but I'll wait on ATSG to figure out what the code means.

If possible, could you check the condition of the DSDF plug on the machine side behind the frame (not the HDMI, if not already checked)? Check if the wires behind the plug are insterted/connected. I remember someone having a pin not inserted properly into the plug, I think was a similar ode can't remember.

                        FOLLOW UP

TABS finally figured out what the code is.

                        Capture.JPG

Considering I swapped out the entire DSDF (including the daughter board for 2nd side), the hotline agrees
it has to be a system board. Got one on order.
Will post when I get it, if that corrects the issue.
