Toshiba 3540C Copy Quality voids 2 colors only

    [Misc] Toshiba 3540C Copy Quality voids 2 colors only

    Looking for help with this E-Studio 3540C. Attached image of test prints showing voiding with two colors only. Yellow and cyan are fine. Black and magenta have the voids. swapped charges and drums with yellow and problem stays. pulled and inspected transfer belt. Replaced black developer 3 weeks ago and all was fine.

      Perhaps dirty laser slit glasses or dirt inside the laser unit? =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Thank you for your quick response. Sorry for not mentioning that I did wipe clean the slit glass and LED's while transfer belt unit was out. Thorough vacuumed inside and all before reinstalling. One item I did not inspect was the First transfer rollers inside the transfer unit that corresponds with the color stations. Do you think that could be an issue and should be looked at?

              I 2nd that...mirrors/slit glass INSIDE the laser are dirty. I had one about 5 months after that series came out installed at a metal shop
              RIGHT OUTSIDE the shop. About the 2nd week, called for streaks. Tracked it down to the laser. Pulled it (had a finisher so you know what
              that also means).
              Popped the top off the laser and used a makeup brush to clean the mirrors and put it all back together. Week later, same issue.
              So I went by a hardware store, bought some foam tape and put foam tape around the inside edge of the laser, and around the inside
              edge of the poly mirror motor. Never had a problem with it after that.
              Was talking to one of the techs from TABS about it and he said "you took the laser apart? You can't do that...it's a sealed unit".
              I said well why did they put screws on the cover. "But it's a sealed unit".
              I said it was put together, then I can take it apart.

                  I'm supposed to throw it away because it's dirty? I don't think so ... what do I have to lose? Nothing, and I gain a little experience along the way.

                      I am thankful for this site and for those who replied. My problem is solved.
                      Removed the laser unit and cleaned the slit glass for the two with issue.

                      Now just need to find where to order parts and supplies.

                          EXACTLY! Had a TABS field tech with me one day. Working on a 4511 (yeah, THAT long ago).
                          CQ problem. Drum was skuffed up. Took out some liquid braso and the TABS guy said what are
                          you doing? I said cleaning the drum. He said you can't do that! I said watch me. Polished the
                          drum, put it back in. Pulled the main charge, ran a dozen sky shots, put the charge back in,
                          ran some copies (just a little lighter than normal) and said they are good to go.
                          TABS guy looked puzzled. I said the drum was going to have to be replaced anyway, why not
                          try?
