How to configure a GD1370NA Fax board to work with a Grandstream HT801 ATA

I wasted a good hour trying to get a e4525AC/GD1370NA fax board connected to a GrandStream ATA to send a fax.

I played round with all kinds of settings in Field Service 13 fax mode but I could not get the fax board to transmit a fax.

I could see the customer's fax trying to connect with my same fax board and I got all of the usual handshake noises but the fax would not transmit.

I finally discovered the customer is using a Grandstream HT801 ATA (analog telephone adaptor) but I am unable to give the IT Manager any advise on how to configure it.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

In the past, I was working with a Cisco ATA. This large custoner's IT Dept was convinced it was the copier's faullt but in the end they had to enable a passthrough

... there are YouTube videos to watch on ATA switches but this seems to be IT's responsibility.

I got dial tone and I have proof the customer's fax board tried to connect to my same model fax board.

      When fighting VOIP I always:
-make sure the actual phone cord is a 2-line, not the old style 4-line
-drop baud rates to 9600 (tx & rx)
      -turn of ECM
      -set coding to MMR
VOIP is also very susceptible to network jitter and packet loss. The VOIP line should also be uncompressed (g 711 codec)
You can find a good read here:
Make Faxing over VoIP work with these fax settings for VoIP (voipmechanic.com)

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

I usually use the settings that TABS says to use.
These settings I came up with a LONG time ago when VoIp started.
When I have one that just won't work, I send out this batch. Most of the time it fixes
the issue. 13-337 you might want to disable if the customer doesn't want to hear
the noise up to Phase B.
Some of these probably aren't needed any more, but I just never changed them.
