I had this code when transfer wire corona was broken. Also check charge corona assy...

This has been going on since the release of the machine. Most of the issues were related to wire too long,spring not tight enough. String your own wire and make it tight and you should be fine. Do al three wires.

There have been some mod kits out over the years to address the issue with the corona wire vibrating causing the c970 code.
Here are the latest 2 part #'s I have received for the mod recently from Toshiba :
#6LA62852000 (heavy duty corona spring)
#6LE8293900F (corona block lids/with wire dampner pressure pads)


Also as Mr Spock stated, stringing your own tight wire will help as well I am sure.

In accordance to service manual, C970 occurs when transfer corona is leakage. In fact, some cases occur C970 as main charger, receptacle leakage, Drum was scrached. Don't forget to check them. Good luck to you.
