adriansto is one of the best people on this site. Period.

If you want to give away service manuals for free, fine, that's great. If he wants to charge $1 or $100 for them, that's fine, too. You don't have to buy them.

But nobody should be getting on any high horse of moral superiority about how they do or don't provide manuals for free. We ALL know the real situation when it comes to exchanging these service manuals.

adriansto is immensely helpful here in the forums for free, and especially after you purchase manuals. He's proven himself.

Compared to someone who came to a public forum to trash someones character, simply because they felt entitled to something for free...? Yeah, I know who I'll stand behind.

            WOW!

If this thread keeps degenerating down to who's a good guy and who's not, we may just have to move it over to 'Rants, Raves, and Everything Else' (where it really belongs IMHO).

Then I'll get out some popcorn and watch as the thread degenerates into a good old fashion junior high school cat fight amongst the most offended.

Come on guys, what does this have to do with fixing machines? We all have customers and competitors that wish to talk trash about us and bring us down.

Do we really need that nonsense here?

            I think not.

            Let it go.

I've purchased plenty of things from him over the years and have never taken issue with it, conversely I have sold thousands dollars worth of Fiery Software on here also.

In my opinion you should feel lucky you found it.

maybe if you don't like something YOU just don't do it, I have purchased manual from him, and let me say this, he is MORE than helpful, even before purchasing he would ask what is the problem I am having, and try to assist (FOR FREE). so if somebody has a way to make a few bucks, and a service manual for a $20,000 machine costs me 80 bucks, i am gladly paying that.

Re: WARNING - Buying manuals from adriansto

I have also had positive dealings with Adriansto over the years, and found him to be honest and helpful

I suspect that part of the misunderstanding here comes from how Xerox provides documentation for their machines.

A hard copy manual for a Xerox product is typically hard to find >>>> if it exists at all.
And if you do find it,, it's often huge.
I remember the hard copy manual for the old DocuTech to be 6000 pages.

Xerox provides most of their documentation -by far- in the form of an EDOC.

The EDOC is accessed as a searchable database that is hosted by the PWS.

More complicated than a paper manual,, It's a far superior way of documenting the machine.
It's kind of like a piece of software specific to the machine, or machine family.
And as such,, has more value.

I really don't have a dog in this fight,, just wanted to describe my experiences.

Can anyone recommend who can supply xerox manual at a good price or swap for other manuals Lexmark / Epson etc.
Fuji Xerox tech, but need an older manual not available to us.

If he really helps so much, why are you having so many problems? I also often give files to people for free, I also sell some. it all comes back to the consumer, whether they want to buy it or not is up to them. So don't corner someone too much.

Adrian is absolutely trustworthy and is always ready to help. He's not just out to make a quick buck, but really wants to help members to solve their problems! This takes time and he had himself to acquire the knowledge and keep it up to date. So it's only right that he charges a price here and there for data that is otherwise difficult to access. In accordance with the forum rules, he gives plenty of good advice here - free of charge! I can only agree with the previous speakers: I think we all benefit enormously from him! So stay as you are!
