[CQ] Xerox EC8056 Dark Band via ADF

    Hi guys

Pretty green when it comes to Xerox stuff...

We have a client with an EC8056 which I believe is basically the same machine as the Altalink C8055 series.

If you copy or scan a page of letter long edge feed, it will leave a dark shade on the bottom of the image...

Only seems to happen LEF, and only via ADF.

If you put it on the glass in either direction, its fine.

Is there some sort of calibration that these things need? I've tried cleaning the optics and the glass, and ran some of the white balance stuff in the service mode.

Machine is relatively new, only 21k on it.

There is a button in the copy settings called Auto Background Suppression, toggle that On and dark band will disappear.

These machine are terrible for copying always background on one side or the other even after doing the IIT calibration (which is what you should do if the above doesn't work)

We just had a 7020 a few weeks ago that would print fine, but scan through the ADF or off the glass produced
a dark band along the operator side edge. Then when we started toggling the DF sensor on the back of the
machine we noticed the exposure lamp was not lighting all the way across the exposure area.
Turned out to be a bad board.
