    Random Banding

    Hi,
I have A VERY serious problem with my dc12. I am getting random banding in all 4 colours, running trail to lead edge. There is no specific measurement I can measure to get an idea where is is coming from. You know 3 cm means....
This is happening before the fuser.
I have changed the drum, checked the laser, checked the drum motor, changed the IBT belt, changed the cleaning station.
I have had this problem on and off for 3 months and now my "Mexican" technician's solution is to buy a new machine! after I have spent hours and buying parts...that I didnt need.
Please I really need some direction

Okay I have attached a sample of what the problem looks like. Now I am getting banding running both ways.
The problem started with lines running inboard to outboard way. A technician was brought in from Mexico City, the machine was completely disassembled and cleaned. He checked and changed the items I mentioned above. It did not solve the problem. I then changed the drum and the inboard to outboard lines went away but then the lead to trail started but very faint. Now as you can see we have them everywhere!!! I dont know whatelse to do. When I out in another drum it doesnt make a difference.

          look like Charge Corotron gone.
try with another drum or replace Corotron.

magnapro did you clean the laser? Did you insert new drum cartridge?
stop print on drum, if there are bandings you have problem with laser or drum!!!

                    You should call experienced tech...

the copy/print cartridge is "whole drum" like this: http://www.xerographic.co.uk/product...7139_thumb.jpg

try to find a new print cartridge for test.
if you have more image you can post here, because from that one you posted cant saw details

try with landscape or mixed image with picture and text

I think I said earlier that a specialist from Xerox Mexico came on site took the machine apart, cleaned it couldnt find the problem and his suggestion is to buy a new machine. Welcome to my world! This is Mexico and they will hide from this problem and hope it will go away.
So as far as getting an experienced tech I would have to find one in the States or Canada.

                          OK
First load tray 2 with A3 80gr paper
While holding 0 (zero) press Start (button)
                          Enter 6789 Confirm
                          Press Print on touch screen
There is arrow up, press it until you get 11
                          Press M (magenta)
Press Start button and you'll get test print with only magenta color.
                          Exit diagnostic

Post that image so we can see it.

I did that test about a week ago and it doesnt show it as well as all four colours on the same sheet. When running the four different colour test. The lines are in the identical position for all four colours (really cannot see it that well on the yellow). I will try another test with four colours that maybe it will show better.
I have tried a new drum and it is the same.

                              uh
make 100% magenta square on A3 and print it.
Stop it before drum. (open front door) If you see strikes and banding on drum it can be only drum or laser. If not stop it on IBT.
If you see strikes and banding on IBT it's 1st BTR inside the IBT. If there is no problems with image on IBT, and you already said it's before fuser
                              it can be 2nd BTR.
