Im going back to customer today,Thank you for responding to post.My real experience is with Sharp, But now Im on my own,(after 28 years at a company) so Ill take any call I can get.
Thank you, Andy
Just to be clear: The service mode switch is a small hole through the front cover right near the mechanical counter. Unbend a large paperclip or use an allen wrench to push the switch without removing the cover. Also it is easy to install the web backwards. Install the web exactly like the old one (except all the web will be on the other roller). Be sure to advance the web ~3 full rotations so it cannot come loose from the take up roller.
I have not seen one of these in a while...
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
I can't seem to find the hole you are referring to, to enter service mode. The only hole I see by the counter is under the front cover, and when I press it with a paper clip / allen wrench nothing happens. We have the canon 6230 and I just replaced the cleaning web, but can't get the 'replace cleaning web' message to go away. Also, you said to have all of the roll on the opposite end from what the old cleaning web had. How is that possible? I tried doing this, and the roll will not fit on that end which is a much tighter space than the end the old roll was all spooled on (the end closest to the left door).
I don't know what to tell you. The web spools from one core to the other. It has to fit if you have the right kind of web.
I also can't help you find that 3mm hole in the inner front cover. I haven't seen one in at least 5 years. I really don't think I can hold your hand through this simple task. You are probably thousands of miles away.
In my mind you have two choices:
1) You can see if the service handbook can make this clearer for you.
2) Hire someone that can handle this task.

The little hole is on the left side when you open the front door. When you push the switch the display will show something like a dollar sign. That is when you push * 6 *.
Thank you mtech, your reply helped me to figure out what I was doing wrong. The dollar sign was there, but I didn't realize that that was how to enter service mode. Very helpful and informative of you.
blackcat: There's no need to be condescending. I was just asking why the roller will not fit on the other end. Perhaps we ordered or were sent the wrong one from the supplier. I never asked you to 'hold my hand through this simple task', but rather that I was doing the steps as outlined in previous posts and I didn't realize what service mode was supposed to look like. I was able to take apart the copier and install the new cleaning web with absolutely no handbook or guidance, so your patronizing attitude is uncalled for on a site that is supposed to be a helpful tool.
Canon NP6230 and NP6035 as well as the IR330/400 have similar web mechanisms. There is usually a spring loaded plate to maintain pressure on the full web to prevent slack. When replacing the now empty roll with a full new one, push the plate down by hand and web should fit nicely. While you're at it check the web advance mechanism. They fail and will destroy fuser rollers pretty quick.
