HP LJ M602 99.09.67 code

Looking in service manual I see 99.09.67 code is "Disk is not bootable please download firmware". Problem is when I try and download F/W with a thumb drive it looks like it is going to load then it stops and "unknown error" comes up.


This machine was working fine until I turned it off to install a maintenance kit, when I turned it back on the 99.09.67 came up.

Did anything unusual happen when you were installing the maint kit? Like did you have any reason to take off the formatter? Maybe a loose connection somewhere?

Nothing unusual when installing maint kit. Have installed many kits over the years. Only thing I did was turn off main power.

Either for some reason the printer lost it's firmware residing on either the SSD or HDD (can be ordered with either -- I've mainly seen the SSD), or the SSD or HDD went bad. You can try downloading the firmware to a FAT32 formatted stick and recopy via the Preboot menu. Otherwise you'll have to replace the SSD or HDD (whichever it has).

Does this machine have a HDD ? Looking at the brochure it says HDD is NOT an option? I will take a look at the service manual specs to see about hdd.

Any chance you put the old fuser back in and turn back on to see if problem was a bad part?
