Sounds like you ruled out the paper motor and encoder, the only other thing involved with the paper advance is the electronics module.

Does it make any odd sounds when it advances too far? Does it ever not advance or not advance enough? I'm just curious.

My guess would be the electronics module.

Phil; not sure sure what you mean?

Good catch! Usually a problem with the drive roller encoder will cause a error on startup. I also thought you meant you replaced the motor and the encoder; I see now you meant you replaced the motor with the encoder that's directly on the motor.

Never had that roller out. Damn--that looks like a job. I usually clean that encoder wheel with a wet rag while changing the encoder sensor.
