    HP M880 so slow adf

I have a right few of these models out in the field and they are on the verge of losing me clients. I have got over alot of the issues but the ADF copy speed is killing me. The first page out of sleep mode is the worst, a good 40 seconds before i get a response to feed the paper. I have changed the energy settings to not go into sleep mode which does increase response times but it is still hellishly slow.

Has anyone any other ideas in how to increase the speeds or response times?

    Regards

We have a bunch of these at a university. Haven't had anyone complaining about scanning speed.

The only thing you can do is to make sure it's got the latest firmware (3.9.5 if using FS3 or 4.9.0.1 if using FS4).

Other than that, it could be the CCD that HP decided to use that isn't the fastest in the world when it comes to warming up.

A tech I worked with found out some auto detect setting was causing specific ADF's to feed slower than normal under certain conditions. I can't remember if it was mixed media mode or auto rotate. It might have been a combination of using the dual scan and one of those settings.

It was something he replicated on other copiers with that ADF so we disabled that setting on all the ones in the field.

I know this is old but I was hoping you found a resolution? Just started a new Job and this is their main machine until we move. It is so slow. We don't do as much printing now as we used to but it would be nice for the device to work correctly.

            thanks,

Lol. HP tried to lure away our customer from KM-808's with these M880's.

It was laughable. Yes it takes ~45 seconds before the first page exits. There was no risk of losing the customer to HP. My customer showed me the machines. I tried to make a few copies:

Me: " ... is it going to copy?"
              "Eventually"
Me: "You're not really going to buy these machines, are you?"
              "Are you kidding? No."

              =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                Thanks,

Yeah this thing even prints super slow. We are limping all the old equipment along as we prepare to move to a new facility where we will have a centrally managed print/copy solution. I was hoping to at least see some random setting that could make it better. LOL.

Printing is so stupid slow its not even worth using it most of the time. Its the main color for the floor though.
