    HP LJ 600 M602

    hello everyone

here's an interesting one, hopefully someone has seen this fault before and can point me in the right direction

no motors operate either during boot, nor if you open/close the lid, nor if you attempt an internal print and so the machine displays "tray 2 lifting" ad infinitum - try an internal print using bypass and it says "printing" ad infinitum - no error codes at any time

    performed factory reset, no change

go into diagnostics, component test and all motors & solenoids operate correctly!! so that tells me the DC controller board is OK, which i guess leaves only the formatter - i was going to return and reflash the firmware to see if that kicked it

    any suggestions?

    thanks in advance

I'd go into the Preboot menu and do a Partial Clean under Administrator. If that doesn't change anything, do a Clean Disk and load a fresh version of firmware.

entered preboot, performed RAM & HDD tests OK, performed partial clean no change, formatted HDD and loaded firmware, still no change - retested all motors & solenoids in 'component test' all worked fine

guess i'll replace the formatter and hope for the best

i had that same problem before with the laserjet 4350. it was the dc controller.

obviously a totally newer printer, but thought i'd offer my input.

        good luck, Jim

you could actually operate the motors in diagnostics?

If you were able to test motors, etc than I would look at formatter pwb being bad
