    CLJ 3600DN copy quality

    Customer had a light gray image and no color on prints. Config page came out with image a washed out gray. Performed full color calib, color portion of the config and test pages came back but black is still washed out. Replaced black toner, performed another full calib, same issue. Using all OEM toners and copy count is at 23K total. Shutter seems to be working and the tape came out cleanly on the toner. Any suggestions?

      Hi Bil,

      I have run into this issue with HP 3800's. It was almost always fixed by replacing the HVPS . Do you have parts to swap in? The DC controller could also be the culprit, but these repairs are expensive for an HP 3600, lol. Good Luck

          I was hoping someone would say the locking lever or something like that!!! Don't have any parts to swap unfortunately. Will see what the boss wants to do with this one. Try to sell them a color copier, maybe!! I have some images of the config and test page but the file is too big to post on this forum, if that would help diagnose the problem better.

              Looks like the customer is going to go with a refurb since the overall cost is about the same and they get a warranty for a year out of it!!!!! Also looking to upgrade their copier to a color machine as well. Looks like a win-win for us!!! Thanks again Brandon for the help.
