I am trying to in stall this printer under win 7 but i have problems with printing. Scannisng works fine.
I removed the old (and not working) version of this printer detached usb cable and tuirned orinter of and removed printer.
I downloaded drivers kai stared setup . Follow the procedure and message "not correctly installed" appeared. In prnters folder printer icon appears but in programms (for example word) doesn't appear in printers list. Any idea how to install it?

The X7170 is not officially supported in Windows 7. You can use the Vista driver.

Unplug the USB cable and uninstall the driver/software. REBOOT

Using the Vista driver/software, start with installing the driver/software and when it asks to plug the printer in, plug it in.

The driver/software/Windows should take it from there.


Please note these are basic instructions for installing any USB printer. I don't know exactly what the installation screens look like.

I have done all this but allways the same, message is not installed correctly". Also i used vista drivers

Which version of Windows 7 are you using? Home or Pro?

The driver package is no longer showing in Add/Remove Programs?

did you download the print driver from lexmarks website?
