    Lexmark XM3250 DF multisheet feed

    We're a small dealership with a limited amount of these machines out. Lexmark's tech support is absolutely terrible. Has anyone out there figured out a fix for the document feeders multi-sheet feeding originals? We've tried updated sep. rollers, adf deskew on, new tire etc etc. Some of these machines are doing it all but brand new out the box. What other things have you tried? Any thoughts/help appreciated.

      Multi-feeding pages into the ADF

      Issue description

      When copying or scanning multiple sheets from the ADF, the feeder picks several sheets into the scanner at one time and feeds them through. There may, or may not be a jam. Sometimes all of the multi-picked sheets will go through the entire path without jamming.
      Solution

      1. Make sure that the original media has been separated, has no staples, and is not welded together from staples, or stuck together in any way. Fan and flex the media before loading them into the ADF tray.
      2. If multi-feeding still occurs, then turn on ADF DeSkew by navigating through Settings > Device > Maintenance > Scanner Configuration > ADF Deskew > set it to ON.

        3. Update the system firmware

          check the flags in the adf paper path. one might be sticking.

              We don't see it that often. When we have repeat calls for the ADF double feeding we will change the sep roller to a sep pad or vice versa. The has always taken care of the issue.

              I think many of the cases are a result of the media the customer is copying. I have never seen it on a new machine out of the box.
