Ricoh Aficio MP C2551AD Network Scan To Folder

I use the RICOH Aficio MP C2551AD as a network printer at work. The device scans to the public folder on the network. But I wanted to use local network instead of public network. Device configuration for this purpose; Instead of the FTP protocol, which is a common network folder, I set it up to scan to the shared folder I created on the client computer with the Windows 10 operating system and the 1809 architecture included with the SMB protocol. . I never made it. I checked the network connection, the printer, and all settings on the client computer. Everything looks normal.

Have you checked to see if the C2551 has to proper firmware to support SMB v2/3, assuming it is available. It is necessary for SMB scan to folder on Windows 10. I have also found that SMB works best if you are using NetBIOS name and not IP address especially if you are on a domain. The OS security assumes that files arriving via SMB and sent directly to an IP address to be malicious content from outside the domain.

I agree as slim says I still have a few of these old models about & have needed to update the firmware on a few for users that insist on scanning via SMB.

Usually happens after customer updates to Win 10 or even a routine Windows update.

I'm adding a third voice to updating the firmware to add SMB v.2.0/3.0 support.
It looks as though the latest firmware will do this (I just checked the version numbers).

Microsoft updates turn off SMBv1 support. You can turn it back on but the next update will turn it off again.

momentarily disables the firewall and then also the antivirus. Check if it works and if it changes the authorizations inside them
