Hello, i am using the printer in my office for testing purposes and i have an unfortunate case, where after clearing all the data, It will give me an error Code C8403 upon starting. After 30-60 seconds, the printer will restart on it's own to diagnose the problem. This makes it quite annoying, as i have checked all the cables that is responsible for ADF and i don't see any cables being damaged or plugged out. What's even more problematic is in the manual, it recommends looking into ADF in Service Mode. The problem is, ADF setting is nowhere to be seen.

Never had this problem before and it was rarely used. It was only turned on when i needed to test something. I can answer the questions if needed and give more informations as i am running out of ideas on how to make ADF appear in Service Mode.

after clearing all data did you use the installation manual and follow all the steps as if it were just unboxed?
im wondering if the serial number field for the ADF or scanner is blank and therefore not looking for it but sees it connected?
honestly thats what i'd try.
full initial setup and then firmware.

I only cleared the data within the printer without full reinstallation. I was thinking if clearing the data without decrypting the storage first would throw an error. Guess i'll have to redo the installation once i'm back to work.

I checked the serial number parts first in Service Mode because that was my first thought when ADF setting wasn't available. Suprisingly, it was still there. I've even double checked when i reinstalled again with different firmware.

EDIT: About the encryption. I think it was decrypted once it was in my office so i don't think this would be the cause but i'll check once i'm in the office

the proper way to decrypt it would have been just to turn off encryption in admin mode and do a logical format (it will force you)
if machine still thinks it should be encrypted it could cause another error.
if it asks to format on boot, just do it

Yep like he said that's the easiest way if following won't work.
Select [Service Mode] -> [ADF] -> [Shading Repair] -> [Init. Data Input] and perform the function.

I already mentioned that ADF setting is nowhere to seen in Service mode.

What do you see in System 2 - ADF Settings?

I have an option between Unset and Double Feed Scanner i think. No difference in which option i choose.

[System1] -> [Initialization] and then i'm selecting Clear All Data

Hit unset then reboot then set it again and reboot does it appears?

I apologize for the long reply. Wanted to make sure it was already set. But yeah, it's already selected on "Unset" and the error still appears.

Make it Unsert clear the error with trouble reset then set ADF again.

I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, it looks like either CPU or Base Board needs to be replaced. I'm also receiving error code CE201 at the same time. I'll have to hold on answering until i can resolve this

EDIT: Good news, the ADF setting in Service Mode has appeared. It turns out the grey cable wasn't connected properly to the Base Board. One of the pins on CN8E was skewed but i managed to correct it. I turned off Shading Repair and both errors C8403 nad CE201 are now gone.
