    ricoh 1027

This is an odd problem. I am wondering what the latest firmware is for the engine of a 1027. I have this fusing problem where if the copier enters energy saver and the fuser cools off, I send a print job, it wakes up and prints the job BUT the first sheet is not fused properly (about half fused Toner smudges but not all comes off). I replaced the Upper heat roller. I am now waiting for the lower heat roller as i am wondering if it is too soft and sucking out the heat from the upper.

Your Ricoh 1027 is the equivalent of the Lanier 5627. Attatched is a tech bulletin describing your problem and the possible solutions. Let us know if it helps you. [file name=TechBulletin.pdf size=6766]http://www.copytechnet.com/components/com_simpleboard/uploaded/files/TechBulletin.pdf[/file]

      Ricoh Aficio 1032 fusing fault

I know this is an old post but I have a copier with exactly the same fault.
First 3 copies poor fusing, then ok until machine goes back to standby!

Have tried to follow the link to the bulletin but it doesnt show.

      Any help appreciated...

      Thanks,
      Lea

hi was wondering what the temp is set on the fuser for first sheet copy you can get the temp display in sp mode and have you changed the thermistors they are always giving out funny readings

          Enable fuser idling SP1103.

First copy out time will be increased as the fuser will rotate when warming up for much longer.

If you don't have SP1103 you will need to update the firmware.

Agree with Cipher, fusing idling should fix your problem.

If you had swapped the fuser unit with a 3030, you're in trouble! I have done this and it cost me 2 new F.U.! But you can start by changing the upper (or lower, forgotten) case of the F.U. and the connector.
