I have an issue with a Konica minolta C558 making a noise when printing only colour printouts but black prints is ok and quiet. Can you help?

What type of noise, buzzing, grinding, squealing?

Never seen that on an 8 series but I have seen it a lot lately on i-series. Some internal components in the drums are not lubed well from the factory. I've seen brand new machines right after install with loud squealing drums.

Remove the color drums one by one and turn them by hand using the knob on the rear - you'll hear the same squealing/high pitch scratching noise you do when running color jobs.

Iv had it a few times where one of the toner hopper motors was making a buzzing/grinding noise, replaced and all was good.

Audio would help a lot. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Did you check the waste box chute? It can get packed with waste toner. Vacuum out

I believe this is one motor that rotates regardless of B/W or Color. Makes more sense if its connected to Color Drums or Dev drive

Any warning codes like P21? Could be transfer retraction but that will code out. If only on color it could be in the main drive but it will show on PQ.
