One of President Trump's central campaign promises was to build a wall separating the the US from Mexico. The President is a self described deal maker. It is in his best negotiating interest to create an obstacle (defund Planned Parent Hood) that costs him little (and seems indifferent to) that he can barter with the Democrats to get what he wants (fund the wall). This is called a false equivalent.

In the business world this might work, not so much in politics if his bluff is called.

One has to respect the strong beliefs of the Pro Life movement. The Pro Life movement has powerful friends and allies. I believe they have every right to guide their own lives by these strongly held feelings. The US Supreme Court has ruled that this does not give Pro Lifers the right to enforce their belief system on people who do not share the same values or might find themselves in a different place in life. I do not think that abortion should be seen as a convenient way of resolving an unwanted pregnancy and the applicant should have to seek some unbiased medical counselling before permission for the procedure is granted.

On this issue I so disagree with Trump and support pro-choice women and on demand unrestricted abortion `...After all it's far cheaper to abort than to support all the babies and children wanted or unwanted that will be on welfare ...and abortion will keep down crime rates... ..win..win for all.....Do you not agree????

No, I don't think murder is a solution to money problems, crime problems, or any other problem. That was Hitler's and Stalin's solution. I believe each person has a right to live. I'm very much afraid of a society that sees people as statistics, and coldly calculates whether they are worthy or unworthy of life.

From what I have read, the Negro Project was simply to have black doctors working with black people to discuss birth control.

Replace birth control with abortion and/or sterilization and you will be a lot closer to what she was trying to do.

President Trump responded that he would continue his push to build the wall by Sept 2017.

One political commentator called this turn around in the Trump Presidency a massive collision between campaign promises and reality.

If indeed the next attempt to fund the wall is in Sept that is just before the mid term elections and most politicians will avoid this hot topic in an effort to get re-elected.

President Trump appears to be feeling a lot of pressure to avoid a gov't shutdown by this weekend. If the Republican party fails to avoid this fate while controlling the House, Senate and White House, it will not only be both a major blow to their reputation but possibly a historical first.

The media immediately broke out into a frenzy. Within minutes, there was not one ear around the globe which hadn't heard the President's disgusting comment. We live in a divided country where half expect handouts and other entitlements, while the other half appreciates values such as hard work, respecting the law and living in a country where we are protected and have our freedoms. I don't think Trump is crazy, he's just a tenacious worker who does what he says. We need this in Washington for a change, instead of phony politicians who could care less about this country. Trump didn't make billions of dollars sitting on his rear all day expecting it to come to him. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, so what? This political correct mindset people have are the same hypocrites who know how to dish it out, but can't take it. They act like spoiled children. If they don't agree with something they protest. Give me a break. Who has time to protest? I sure don't, even if I wanted to.

Interesting comments from Donald Trump this week in an interview with Reuters News that he missed his old life before he became President. He did not think that being President would be so hard.

I am relived that Congress agreed to punt the budget issue until next Friday to keep the gov't operating. A lot of things can go off the rails between now and then.

I think that President Trump is slowly learning that he can't get his way on everything and took the Obamacare repeal and the Wall off the table for now.

Just because a country initially accepts a "refugee" at the border, it doesn't mean that country isn't going to do it's due diligence and check the "refugees" out and potentially deport them. Ehhh

I totally believe that President Trump is a very hard worker but he often makes very irresponsible statements like today:

"The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there! We ... either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good 'shutdown' in September to fix mess!" Trump said Tuesday in two consecutive tweets.

Democrats quickly hopped on Trump's call for a shutdown, including Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz, who tweeted, "The President just called for a government shutdown this fall. No President has ever done anything like this."

Both Senior Republican Senators Orin Hatch and Mitch McConnell stated in response that they had no intention of changing the Senate rules on legislative action from 60 votes to 51 votes. In the House, a simple majority passes the legislation. Not so in the Senate, you need 60 votes to pass a legislative filibuster.

When the Senate Republicans succeeded in recently nominating Supreme Court Justice Judge Neil Gorsuch they got that done because the rules governing judicial nominations are different from legislative resolutions.
