38 C temperature in Siberia smashed Arctic heat record, UN agency confirms


54.4 C in Death Valley, Calif., among record number of heat records being investigated by WMO


The UN weather agency said Tuesday it has certified a 38 C (100.4 F) reading in the Russian town of Verkhoyansk last year as the highest temperature ever recorded in the Arctic, the latest in a string of "alarm bells about our changing climate."

The World Meteorological Organization said the temperature "more befitting the Mediterranean than the Arctic" was registered on June 20, 2020, during a heat wave that swept across Siberia and stretched north of the Arctic Circle.

Average temperatures were up to 10 C higher than usual in Arctic Siberia, playing a key role in forest fires, loss of sea ice and global temperature rises that made 2020 one of the three hottest years on record.

"This new Arctic record is one of a series of observations reported to the WMO Archive of Weather and Climate Extremes that sound the alarm bells about our changing climate," said WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas in a statement.

NO, I don't believe climate change is real and caused by man. If it is real it is very minimal. There have been bad hurricanes, storms, etc since the beginning of earth! I've been waiting years for prediction that NJ will have Fl weather. I was hoping not to have to move and have warm weather all year round. Looks like I may still have to move if I want warm weather because prediction never came true!

I'm more worried about running out of space for trash. I try and do my part for recycling toner cartridges, etc.

Nope, never has been caused by man

During the man made global warming "scare" of the 90's/Algore, I remember seeing photos of all the melting ice
and they were just scared to death. Then, in the Nordic region of the planet, the melting ice uncovered an abandoned
Nordic settlement. Scientist, paleontologist were all a gaa-gaa over it. All this new information they got from all of
the "man made" global warming.
They dated this settlement to around the 12th or 13th century.
But, NOT ONE of these so called experts, the media etc stop and said WAIT A MINUTE!
How was the planet so warm, that long ago, to sustain an established settlement, without any burning of fossil fuels?
Even considering how small the global population was at the time, I don't think burning of whale blubber would cause
it to be that warm.

The problem with people is they thing "long term" if 50-100 years. In the history of this little rock of a planet, that's
nothing more than a blink of an eye.

Everything cycles. If you go back and take a look at the sunspot data every time the sun is in a LOW cycle of sunspots
& CME's, our planet "cools" or the weather patterns change, to what we have been use to over 30-40 years. In the 1600's
the Maunder minimum, it was so cold, the Thames river was frozen over.
We are coming OUT of the "modern maximum" (well, modern for out times). The sunspots have been HUGE up until cycle
24 came along (mid 2000's). Cycle 25, which we are in now, has also been very quiet. (ham radio, watches sunspots)
If the curve continues, we are heading to a "climate change" to LESS geomagnetic storms being tossed at our planet.
The magnetic bubble around our planet won't be in constant flux, which also has an impact on the weather patterns around
the earth.

Heck, one good sized BURP by a volcano, releases more Co2 gass than we could ever expend.
Here's an easy way to look at it. If these people running around in corporate jets to meetings to tell everyone they need to
change their lifestyle to save the planet, were SO CONCERNED about "climate change", shouldn't they be living by example
and not flying all over the place releasing Co2 gas from their private jets, owning 2-3-4 or more HUGE mansions that require
a lot of energy to operate, riding around in limos and on and on?
Nope, that's because they want everyone ELSE to change THEIR lifestyle, but, they should still live like kings & queens because
"they" are important.

It's just another scam by the globalist, the socialist and ignorant people that don't understand how things work!

Listen you lying ass jack, man made global warming had zero to do with track taken by those tornadoes. Biden saying it does not make it true. Biden saying it at the time when he did, before there was time to assess the date tends to make it actually false. Not to mention that the tornadoes hit at least six states, not just Missouri. In fact Kentucky was probably hit the hardest with one tornado staying on the ground for over 200 miles in that state. The tornadoes are currently estimated to be maybe EF3, again all the needed data to determine exactly what they were is not yet collected. EF3 is no where near the EF4 Tuscaloosa–Birmingham multi-vortex tornado from 2011.

Shoddy building construction, lack of maintenance, inadequate inside warning systems, little or no emergency protection facilities and little in any emergence response training of the employees are the most like cause of about 110 people being trapped in the Consumer Products candle factory in Mayfield, Kentucky.

Now if you are that concerned about man made global warming, start riding a bicycle or get a pedal powered car.
