The USA lost 33,000 jobs in Sept as the economy took a big hit from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. It was the first monthly decline in seven years. Economists had been expecting an increase of 90,000 jobs.

The biggest hit to jobs was in the restaurant and bar industry.

The insurance industry added 10,900 jobs in September as claims adjusters were hired to assess the damage. And building supply stores was by far the strongest segment of retailing. Those stores added 5,300 jobs, even as retailing overall lost 2,900 in the month.

An increase in jobs is expected to be reported in the Oct jobs report from the Labour Dept. as rebuilding efforts intensify and citizens purchase goods to replace those items destroyed by the Hurricanes.

The USA unemployment rate remains at 4.2% the lowest level it has been at in many years.

Climate change discussion includes the direct effects these storms or natural disasters inflict as it is about discussion on what created the storms.

The US Labor Dept stated today that the unexpected job losses were directly related to the three Hurricanes.

When a restaurant in the Florida Keys was destroyed by Hurricane Irma, the staff immediately lose their jobs and the owner maybe loses his business.

As per your M.O. you seem to have difficulty posting complete and accurate information Let me help...The unemployment rate dropped to 4.2 %...it didn't remain at 4.2 %...You do know the difference ..ehh..

There is some truth and inaccuracies in this statement.

The soot and other particles that make up air pollution tend to scatter light back out into space. And really, the climate change argument has nothing to do with clean or dirty air. It has to do with the amount of greenhouse gases CO2, methane etc that are emitted into the atmosphere that are warming the earth.

While we may not think of wildfires being caused by Climate change, this summer's record breaking heat has caused extreme wildfires all along the Pacific coast and into Canada. How much water do you think is kept from going back to the natural cycle. That will do something for sure. Delayed water cycle can propagate and snowball big time.

How long ago was the industrial revolution? When was the economy model introduced. For what purpose? To make a quick buck. For who, for those has zero concept of accountability.

All for the sake of Convenience, maybe this idea isnt so good at all.

Maybe the idea of "Business" isnt good at all. Rather, self sufficient was meant to be.

Global Warming doesnt raise an alarm? of course not, they want to wait til there're no fish in the ocean.
