Also what I am seeing a lot of punk rich kids with their suped up cars causing fatal accidents. Many of them hit and run car vs pedestrian, car vs bicycle, car vs motorcycle and car vs car. Lock down frustration is possibly a major contributor.

Plus most if not all lock downs were at state levels ,not federal. The main thing at federal level was international restrictions, especially travel to the US by non US citizens.

Just my testimony.
My son is 10 years old, without vaccine, a week ago he took covid and after 3 days he had no more symptoms (fever at 39, headache, cold), he reacted well, now he has only a little phlegm two days ago he was still positive, he will swab on June 1st. Me with 2 doses of Pfizer and a Moderna and my 17 year old daughter with 3 Pfizer we were infected by him, we both had symptoms of cold sore throat, fever, cough, headache, nothing serious. Since this variant is said to be more contagious but less dangerous than the first, I wonder what would have happened to us without the vaccines? An unvaccinated friend of mine was treated at home (a year ago) with cortisone, tachipirin and more but on my phone call he could not even speak due to shortness of breath he said he was very ill and risking an emergency. Another friend without vaccine was hospitalized about 4 months ago I don't know which variant he contracted but they had intubated him and he too has had a bad time.
