At least 225,000 Americans have died, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Although optimism about an effective vaccine or therapy is warranted, no one can be sure when either will be ready. Until then, virus hot spots need a rapid response, including temporary shutdowns where necessary to slow transmission. A nationwide mask mandate would help immensely. Shortages in personal protective equipment must be alleviated. Once the raging community spread is reduced, a massive drive to test, trace and isolate the sick could begin to keep infections at a low level. All of this will require leadership — which is another way of saying it will require a different president.

My wife had been sick with what seemed like covid type symptoms. The doctors were only doing video and phone visits. Finally they told us to go get her tested,she was negative. So now to find out what was wrong with her they told us to go to the emergency room. The hospital is in a high population area just outside of chicago. I thought this is gonna be a nightmare with all the hospitals being filled up with covid patients. There was only one other person in the ER. All told we had to keep going to the er 5 times. Each time the first thing they tested her for was covid,negative everytime. Everytime the hospital was like a ghost town. I talked to people who went to other local hospitals and they said it was also totally unlike what they were saying on the news. I believe they are fudging the numbers big time.

Democrats are way over-playing their hand on Covid. They think they can scare enough folks into voting for them. But the truth is that lockdowns scare voters more than covid. That's why you're seeing a mass exodus from states like California and New York: See Joe Rogan.

From what I have observed, that is the case everywhere. Locally hospitals months ago were laying off nurses especially ER nurses because they were not need. People are afraid that they are going to be exposed to SARS-CoV-2 if they go to a hospital emergency room. With low cost or free testing where you do not even have to get out of your vehicle available everywhere in the US, that is where people go to get tested. The majority of those that do teat positive are asymptomatic or have minor symptoms and are told to quarantine at home. Those that do require hospitalization do not go through the ER. They go directly to ICU.
