I read an article the other day that spoke about rich countries buying up all the vaccine and leaving poor countries to suffer. I'm curious, is Canada willing to send 50% of their first order to poorer countries?

That amuses me. Your article says that Canada promises to donate any "excess" that it doesn't need. That basically means that after you get your belly full that then you'll let the suffering eat a bite or 2.

I thought you were all about shared sacrifice? Turns out it's CANADA FIRST. Hey, I don't blame you. That's exactly my stance on the USA.

Dude, the USA sends more money to poor countries each year than any other country in the world.

If it were up to me, Canada wouldn't get the first dose of vaccine made in the USA until every American got theirs and only after that I'd send Canada any excess.

Is the US donating extra vaccine to anyone?

When there are "extra vaccines" they will be donated to other countries. Right now the US Government is providing them free to all of its citizens. I except to see the Moderna vaccine to be the vaccine that most people around the world to receive in that it doesn't need to be shipped and stored at temperatures below zero. Either Moderna or a vaccine from some other country that as yet has not finished testing. Possibly an oral vaccine like the one Vaxart is currently testing. Company develops oral COVID-19 vaccine; vaccine currently undergoing Phase 1 trial

Well, since Canada is buying vaccine for 33 million people and the US is buying for 330 million, I would bet the US would have more left over. Time will tell though.

Dude, the USA sends more money to poor countries each year than any other country in the world.

From what I have seen the new COVID-19 relief package provides billions of dollars to foreign countries.

Back to my point: In a time of crisis people always show their true colors and it's clear that Canada is showing their privilege/wealth by buying up millions of doses while not sharing with poorer countries. I don't see anything wrong with it, personally. Canada has money. Can't fault you for that. Cheers.
