As Governor Cuomo said, the battle against COVID-19 is about "we, not me".

A person who wants to go back into the workplace before your local state gov't OKs it, does not have the right to infect other people around him, regardless of the economic cost.

At this time, in New York state, individuals have not been given that permission.

He said that if a person is desperate to earn income, there are jobs available in essential services.

Across Canada, individuals have not been given that permission and there is barely any published media push back perhaps because we have a much better social security net to aide people in need. Not even the opposition political parties are pushing back. Canada has elected to keep its border closed to US citizens entering the country except for essential service employees. Air Canada, our largest airline has cancelled all public flights to and from the USA.

I understand that Florida has by design an exceptionally difficult to navigate social security net, designed by the Republican state governor, to in the good times to force people to seek work.

That's your choice, and here in America you have the FREEDOM to choose to stay home if you're afraid of getting sick. You might not make any money, or friends, or get fresh air, or know what's going on around you in the world, but at least you won't get sick. We have always "protected the vulnerable" and those that are vulnerable generally avoid most people already. Again, nobody makes a stink like this about the TENS OF MILLIONS of deaths from the flu each year.

united states navy captain crozier pleaded with then then acting secretary of the navy for help for his men during the covid 19 outbreak... he even wrote a letter to that effect... when the letter got out into the public... the then acting secretary of the navy... who has since been dismissed... made sure crozier got out the door before him... the navy has since requested his reinstatement... the new acting secretary of the navy is sitting on it...

Yup, Canada has a smaller population and thus, a smaller tax base. It is simply the fact that our federal government actually wants to help all people, not just the trump class
