Re: Latest on the Corona Virus
A CNN story I read a couple days ago said, "Harvard researchers warned that if the country wants the economy to open back up -- and stay that way -- testing must go up to at least 500,000 people per day."
Then I heard Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci talking during the briefing. Dr. Deborah Birx, who serves as the response coordinator for the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force, recently said testing capacity of one million tests per week is available. At that rate, it would take more than six years to test every American.
“We really need to get up to at least maybe two times that, three times that.” Says Dr. Fauci.
So, with Fauci's words, and the Harvard Researchers' words, it would still take 2 - 3 years to test every American.?!? Are we supposed to remain "in fear" and shutdown, and completely unravel as a society for that long? Is that what it's going to take for these people to be "satisfied with the results". This argument of needing MORE and MORE and MORE testing to reopen the economy is getting WAY played out, and more and more Americans are getting fed up with the restrictions and draconian bullshit that is playing out every day.
Testing will improve and testing will happen often with proof of results to gain admission to many venues.
Do not be surprised if you have to be tested to get a drivers license.
These Republican governors who foolishly want to open up their states this week, valuing money over lives, publicly state that people will always do the right thing ... please, do not be so naive.

So some people don't want the economy opened up until after everyone has been tested? Well if you don't have it and you get tested, you might have just exposed yourself.

I'm not sure about the foreign investment practices of Microsoft.
Here are some well known facts about big business interests in Australia.
Optus telephone company owns a large part of the telecommunications in Australia.
Who is Optus? Optus is owned by Singtel of Singapore.
Who is Singtel? Singtel is part of Temasek Holdings.
Whos Temasek Holdings? Temasek Holdings is Singapore Government.
A foreign Government controls a large part of the vital residential and business communications of another country, namely Australia. How does one foreign government get operate inside another local government? When you work it out please tell me too...
----------------------------------------------- insert wikipedia ----------------------------------------------
Singtel controls significant market share in Australia and Singapore, with 82% of the fixed-line market, 47% of the mobile market and 43% of the broadband market in Singapore.[6] Singtel is also the second-largest company by market capitalisation listed on the Singapore Exchange[7] and is majority owned by Temasek Holdings, the investment arm of the Singapore government. Singtel is an active investor in innovation companies through its Singtel Innov8 subsidiary, founded in 2011 with $200 million start up capital.

Re: Latest on the Corona Virus
chartered companies were at one point extension of royal entities...
countries at many times want a way to control other countries or destroy specific industries sometimes its by war sometimes its through other companies...
think this week when oil prices hit zero... many touted this as putin making us fracking industry unfeasible... or opec dropping oil prices to control the us fracking industry... (fracking -- mining terminology)
now lets take it back to get an idea of how and why this is done...
think chartered companies ...
they were granted existence and royal charter and represented the interests of said govt... example east india trading company...
think slave trade and colonialism
how did they defend interests... wars and privateering... (privateering is pirates with govt license of operation they call it writ of something but you get the idea...)
later on you had business's that wielded enough political influence that they could request the aid of a particular govt to protect that business interests
think chiquita bananas and banana republic time period
Banana republic - Wikipedia
think us invasions to protect democracy when one already exists...
a great example of that in modern times is the
oil pipeline wars
Obama’s secret deals with Saudi Arabia and Qatar: Behind lower gas prices and the bombing of Syria and Eastern Ukraine | Tony Seed's Weblog
think manufactured us actions for various reasons
another is the iraq invasion
Why you can’t explain the Iraq war without mentioning oil | Middle East Eye
think manufactured us actions for say a sanctioned action on iraqs part... or well we wont go there..
now think china coms
think huawei
Huawei admit Chinese law obliges companies to work with government, under conditions – EURACTIV.com
huawei cfo arrest reasons
Huawei CFO arrested: Why Meng Wanzhou'''s detention on U.S. extradition charges is a big deal
hidden backdoor in huawei routers
another example is the industrial espionage done by the nsa on a brazilian oil company
Accusations that NSA is conducting intelligence-gathering operations that go beyond its core mission of national security
for the protection of interests (powerful companies in west) in the west...
us industrial espionage to protect technological advantage proposed
A secret 2009 report contemplates spying to bolster corporate profits — despite loud government denials.
german industrial espionage for us interests
The NSA espionage scandal has unsettled German companies. They are concerned that industrial secrets may have been stolen by US intelligence agencies.
you get the idea...
all govt do this to protect their interests...
why you might ask... plain and simple govts are run by people and people like money
and if its in their financial interests people will make govts do whatever they want...
think lobyists... they wouldn't exist if what they did wasn't working...
also their is a reason why those that enter politics in the us enter poor and leave rich...
they have access to actionable information well before the rest of us...
they can make very profitable decisions...
not necessarily ethical ones...
but profitable ones...
thats for another day...

Re: Latest on the Corona Virus
... that is because the economics of the news industry has savaged the staff and budgets of most news organizations.
It use to be that there were only a handful of large news organizations that got much of the advertising dollars. Now with so many kinds of media that a consumer can tune into, the media market is completely fragmented and advertising revenues have shrunk dramatically. Therefore, manpower had to be cut and news reporters were among the first to go.
Now, we basically, have media pools that relay the main stories to their affiliates who in turn rebroadcast the same story.
One of the worst is Sinclair Broadcasting Group, the 3rd largest broadcaster in the USA with a strong pro Trump bias. President Trump has threatened Fox News several times about stories they ran that were not complimentary to him, that he would give Sinclair breaking news first.Comment

Re: Latest on the Corona Virus
more than likely they know...
but are waiting for approval to post it...
In the UK when the Government introduced this lock down it applied to the whole country. So one would assume to get the best information and cut out the press I could find this on their website. I found nothing on the current lock down dates and when it would be revised only a link to a 45 minute youtube video. I emailed them saying this lock-down should be on their site to which they replied saying they only provide general information. How difficult would it be for every country or state to have a trusted source with information like The current lockdown will be revised on 4/5/2020 or 5/4/2020 for you AmericansSad To Say I Don't Have a Life

Yes you are probably right the UK Government website is probably tied up in so much "red tape" it would probably require the consent of a thousand civil servants and a few members of Parliament to add one sentence of useful information.Comment
